Election In Malaysia

   Malaysia is a country that practising a parliamentary democracy system which have allow all the citizen to choose the country’s leaders. The citizen will choose their leader by through elections that will be held every 5 years.

   What is an election? Election is a process that will only take place over a period of 5 years to elect representatives to rule either at the state or at the federal level. This is because election is important as they help to people in getting a chance to vote for their contestant that citizen might think can lead the country well. Beside, the election also known as simple majority system which is a really important feature in a country that practising a parliamentary democracy system because it is the first step to form a great government. The election will be held by stages and in a secret, but the counting of votes will be made on public. There are two types of elections namely General Election and By-Election.

    The General Election are held to elect members of the lower house and state legislature where all electoral processes will run simultaneously throughout peninsular Malaysia. The General Election is a political election which is been made to choose or elect the best contestant to be a prime minister or members of legislature. By-election is an election that will be made if there is a vacant seat in Dewan Parliament. Beside if one of the members of the parliament dies, By-election also will be held to find a new member to change the old one. In addition, By-election must be done when one of the member are absent from sitting in the Dewan Parliament for six months without living the parliament. The seat will remain vacant until the general next election.

   In conclusion, election is very important for the country that practising parliamentary democracy system because it will help the country to have a better representative or country’s leaders which can lead to the bright future to the country.
