The effectiveness of Malaysia's electoral
system has been successful in maintaining the country's well-being. From the
first election in 1955 to the present, elected leaders have been able to bring
political stability. Political stability is critical in developing a country's
economic strategy. Only with a strong mandate can a government implement
various policies to improve the living standards of its people and the
country's economy. Malaysia's development can be carried out smoothly if there
is political stability, and the people live in unity, harmony, and tolerance.
This situation also enables the country's leaders to establish
diplomatic relations on a regional and international level. The international
community respects and recognizes national leaders. Most proudly, Malaysia was
elected as a member of the UN Security Council in 1965, 1989 and 1999. In
addition, Malaysia has also been chosen to host international conferences such
as CHOGM, OIC and NAM. This demonstrates that the people made the correct
decision in electing a worthy leader through the electoral system.
Besides, elections can keep the country in peace and harmony even today.
The fact that the country's peace has succeeded in attracting many investors to
open factories in the country, such as the Hitachi and Sharp factories, is
proof of this. Aside from that, Malaysia is one of the most sought-after
developing countries by investors due to its low labor costs, good
infrastructure, competitive incentive and tax offers, and investor-friendly
government policies. This helps to raise the country's per capita income. In
fact, people can learn new skills by being exposed to new technologies brought
from Japan and Korea in order to achieve economic progress and develop the
industrial sector. For example, Malaysia has a thriving automotive industry
that produces national vehicles such as Proton.
Next, employment opportunities are wide open to Malaysians. Indirectly,
the community's living standards improved and the poverty rate decreased. Roads
and highways are examples of modern transportation system advancements. Light
Rail Transit (LRT) and Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) systems are also available.
Furthermore, advancements in communication and communication systems can be
made. The country's defense is strengthening, the people's security is assured,
and Malaysia is a popular destination for international students seeking to
further their education.
Not only that, but people of different races can coexist in a peaceful
environment where the Malaysian race has absolute loyalty to the leaders of the
country they elect through elections. People's well-being and harmony
contribute to a peaceful and united existence. Finally, the election has made
Malaysians are aware of the importance of education in ensuring the country's
well-being and realizing the country's aspiration to become a developed nation,
with its people living in harmony and loyalty to the country.
